Turkey and Cranberry Sauce Sliders

Turkey and Cranberry Sauce Sliders

Turkey and Cranberry Sauce Sliders

To be completely honest, I don’t personally enjoy sliders with turkey and cranberry sauce. This kind of combination of savory and sweet flavors is not one of my favorites. I am aware, though, that a lot of people enjoy this combo.

Several bloggers have shared their variations of Turkey and Cranberry Sauce Sliders on social media, so I’ll be sharing my own take or a twist on the recipe. This is really uncomplicated recipe!

While turkey is typically used in these sliders, you could also use ham as an alternative. Ham and cranberry sauce make a delicious combination as well.

Turkey and Cranberry Sauce Sliders

It reminds me almost of honey ham with pineapple so we do have a mix of sweet and savory that work great together. However, since most of us have leftover turkey, utilizing that in this recipe is a great way to reduce waste.

Even if I’m not a huge fan of turkey and cranberry sauce sliders, I can still appreciate how inventive and different this food idea is.

We may make a tasty and creative lunch or dinner by repurposing leftover turkey and mixing it with cranberry sauce, possibly served with some wonderful hot soup.

Turkey and Cranberry Sauce Sliders

Whether you’re a fan of ham or turkey, these sliders surely be a light twist and alternative to the standard sandwiches.

Do you repurpose leftovers creatively or do you just eat the same thing for 3 days?

I have my share of unique ways to use leftovers such as Thanksgiving pizza made completely with leftovers even mashed potatoes and gravy. It was a flavor bomb!

Sliders:

You can use any sliders, of course, but Hawaiian are soft, sweet, and perfect for this.

Meat:

If you do not have leftover turkey, you can use oven-roasted turkey from the deli. That being said, if you like ham, use ham, or chicken.

Cranberry Sauce:

If you like me and do not want to use cranberry sauce, be my guest and try it with marinara sauce or honey mustard instead. It is so delicious!!

Topping:

i love using parsley and unsalted butter to brush it on top, as well as garlic powder. You can use freshly minced garlic too, or add a bit of Dijon mustard. Mustard and turkey just go so well together.

Toppings:

  • 8 oz oven roasted turkey, (deli thick sliced if you don't have leftovers)

Final topping:

    3. Slice Hawaiian rolls across in the middle lengthwise.
    4. Spread a layer of cranberry sauce on the bottom of each slider bun, you can use more or less. 1/4 cup was enough for me but if you can use a bit more.
    5. Layer the turkey slices on top of the cranberry sauce. Add slices of cheese, then place the top of the bun over the cheese.

    8. Take the out and drizzle a bit more butter on top and single with some chopped parsley.
    9. Enjoy them while hot!

Notes

If you do not like cranberry sauce you can use marinara sauce or honey mustard.

Bruschetta Pasta Salad

Bruschetta Pasta Salad

Many of us can't help but indulge in our guilty pleasure of eating pasta. However, we frequently want something lighter and more refreshing when summer's scorching temperatures arrive. The bruschetta pasta salad comes into play here.

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Additional Time 1 hour
Total Time 1 hour 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of pasta, I used orecchiette (brand: Delallo)
  • 1 cup of cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh basil
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 - 1 cup mozzarella cheese pearls
  • 1 cup of croutons
  • 1/4-1/2 cup of Olive oil and vinegar dressing (or Italian dressing as an alternative)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside to cool.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cherry tomatoes basil, and mozzarella cheese.
  3. Add the cooled pasta to the bowl and toss gently to combine all the ingredients.
  4. Pour the vignette dressing (or Italian dressing) over the salad and toss again to ensure everything is well coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  6. Sprinkle large croutons over the top of the salad for an added crunch. Love those big texas style croutons, but you can use any on hand or your homemade. I like adding half before refrigeration and the other half after to mix different textures of the crunch. You can add more or less.
  7. Serve the bruschetta pasta salad chilled and enjoy!

Notes

You can make your own vinagrette but you can but store-bought as well. There are many options just look for something clean and not with mile long ingrednt list. It is a simple Oil and Vinigar mix with herbs, spices and seasonings.
